For over forty years now, the guitar has been an essential part of my life. Like many other guitarists of my generation, the heroes of the 60's and 70's era made an indelible mark on me, traces of which will never leave my playing. Whether it's the blues, rock, pop, jazz fusion or country, I have played in projects over the years in each of those genres, and in the process have developed a love and respect for all of them. Subconsciously, all those players and genres have proudly seeped into my "style". To me, it's all about playing the right note, at the right place with the right tone; with that, anything is possible. In 2015, I released my first solo CD called Colors That Move. I do hope you will check it out! More recently, I have joined forces with Paul Rossman on drums and Lalit Loomba on bass to form Balzer, Rossman and Loomba, a trio weaving a soulful mix of the blues, classic rock and groove jazz. There are some videos here on the site of this latest project that I hope you will check out as well. Thanks so much for visiting my site and your interest in my music!
Released in 2015, Colors That Move fulfilled a long desire of mine to create an instrumental guitar album, a sonic painting of layered guitars. Here are some tracks from the album as well as a couple of videos from my most recent work with Balzer, Rossman and Loomba . A new CD in the works as well.
